Peter Doherty

Peter Doherty (instagram-peterdohertyofficial), known as the frontman of The Libertines and Babyshambles, has made significant contributions to the British rock scene. Beyond his musical career, Doherty has ventured into the visual arts, often incorporating unconventional materials into his work. In 2025, Doherty presented his exhibition Felt Better Alive in Berlin at the Janinebean Gallery. This show, open until April 26, features over 20 pieces, including collages, sketches, and fragments of diaries and love letters. Some artworks are painted with Doherty’s own blood, reflecting his intense personal journey. The exhibition also offers a preview of the artwork for his upcoming solo album of the same name, set to be released on May 16. I had the privilege of covering this event, capturing the intimate and immersive atmosphere of the gallery. The space was carefully curated, displaying everyday objects from Doherty’s life, giving visitors a profound insight into his artistic versatility. The interaction between the artworks and the setting created an experience that deeply resonated with the audience, highlighting Doherty’s creative evolution and his unique ability to merge music and visual art.
